President Trump has released the following press conference on Iran and the position of the United States in the wake of a successful precision airstrike which took out the Iranian military leader Qassem Soleimani.
Trump has said that he took the action “Stop a war, not to start one” while the Iranian response is yet to be seen. The assassination of Soleimani comes in the wake of heightened tensions in the region and an attack on the US embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.
Trump stated that America has the most powerful military in the world by far and the best intelligence. He went on to state that they many Iranian targets locked and ready to be attacked while declaring that he will do anything to protect the American people and it’s diplomats anywhere in the world.
Trump went on to claim that the future on Iran belongs to it’s citizens and not those who impose tyranny on others and plot terror around the world.
